Localization World Barcelona: 30 May - 1 June, 2006
Working — Together

Building on the success of five previous conferences, Localization World came to Barcelona, Spain for the spring 2006 conference: 30 May - 1 June, 2006.

Like all Localization World conferences, the program covered a wide range of issues in the world of translation and localization. This conference focused on the theme of working — together, that is, the old and yet new trend of industry collaboration.

Two evening social gatherings were held to maximize both enjoyment and the opportunity to meet fellow professionals. If you are new to Barcelona, we encourage you to read the travel information compiled for us by Michael Cárdenas.

There were additional gatherings prior to the conference.

Over 520 registrants attended from an impressive list of companies coming from all over the world.

Who should attend:

Conference sessions are geared towards professionals seeking to learn about new tools, methods and business practices in the areas of localization and internationalization. Networking and mutual problem discussion opportunities will abound at the social gatherings, meals and break periods. Exhibitors will be present to provide information about their products and services to all levels of attendees. Here is valuable information for your management that shows why you should attend the conference.

Reservations for exhibit space are now being taken. Request information about exhibiting.

  • Pricing. The conference is reasonably priced, with discounts for early registration, options for one-day attendance, and affordable accommodations.
  • Location. The conference is held at the Hotel Fira Palace in Barcelona. More information regarding discount rates will be available soon.

What people have said about previous conferences:

"LW Bonn exceeded all my expectations; the profile of the attendance was perfect as 80% seemed to be decision-makers; the exhibition was a tremendous financial success for us; the sessions were so leading-edge, and the networking and bonhomie so fluid – and that’s not to mention the social events! A tribute to all whose names lie behind this." — Joseph P. Deignan, Director, EMEA at Alchemy Software Development

"The Localization World conference in San Francisco was both fun and informative. In just two days the core challenges and changes of localization were discussed at length." — Joe Didamo, VP Global Business Development, Moravia Worldwide

"Localization World has become the reference event for the translation and localization industry. The unique structure of the event guarantees value for every attendee, and the careful selection of speakers balances innovation with education. A must for the experienced professional and the newcomer to the industry." — Renato Beninatto, Partner, Common Sense Advisory
