The opening reception for Localization World is a great way to make initial contacts for the conference. The reception is open to all attendees.

It will be held in the Saal Döblin room at the Park Inn Hotel (site of the preconference sessions, and the conference hotel.) Since the reception is at the conference hotel, it will be easy for latecomers to still attend. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.

This is always a fun time, and an opportunity to greet old friends and meet new ones. We hope to see you there!

It is the eve of summer solstice, so let's have a beach party! The Bundespressestrand is located on the Spree River in the middle of the government district of Berlin (not far from the Hauptbahnhof.) Join us for a fun evening of a casual barbecue-style food with sand, beach volleyball, dancing and, of course, always, great networking! So, dress casually and come ready for a good time.

Important logistical information:
Buses will begin leaving the Park Inn for the Bundespressestrand at 18.45. The ride will take 10 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The first bus to return at the end of the evening leaves the Bundespressestrand at 22.00. Information on public transportation options for the return trip will be handed out, in case you'd like to return early or separately.

In addition, on the outgoing bus, you will receive a bracelet which will identify you as a Localization World Conference participant. This bracelet will give you access to the food and bar provided by the conference. If you choose to not take the bus, you will need to present your conference badge to receive a bracelet at the event.

Historical note:
The Bundespressestrand's current location is on the path of the former Berlin Wall, in a once "forbidden" zone between the Stadtbahn viaduct and the Spree.
