How do I get to the Bell Harbor Conference Center?
The Bell Harbor Conference Center is at Pier 66. Information on getting there may be found at the center's website. If you are staying at the Comfort Suites Hotel, there will be a free shuttle to the conference center. The schedule is:
Tuesday, October 16:
7:45–8:45 AM: shuttle every 10 minutes
5:30–6:30 PM: shuttle every 10 minutes
Wednesday, October 17:
7:15–8:15 AM: shuttle every 10 minutes
10:00 PM: buses to the hotel
Thursday, October 18:
7:15–8:15 AM: shuttle every 10 minutes
5:30–6:00 PM: shuttle every 10 minutes

I am a presenter. Are we meeting?
The speakers are meeting for a reception on at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, October 16 at the Marina room, Bell Harbor Center. This brief meeting will be a chance to meet other speakers and presenters in the program, to transfer a copy of your presentation to the organizers, and to be made aware how much the staff of Localization World appreciates your efforts. |
What are the details on the opening reception?
The opening night reception is open to all attendees. This will be at the Jazz Alley, with music by Marc Joncker's Group, The Unique Humans. This is a reception only, light food will be served, but it is not a dinner. |
What are the conference hours?
On Tuesday, the preconference day, the conference registration opens at 8:00 AM.
On Wednesday, day one of the conference, registration opens at 7:30 AM and the opening is at 8:30 AM.
On Thursday, the first session begins at 9:00 am. Thursday's sessions will end at approximately 5:30 PM. |
Where do I pick up my conference badge?
You may pick up your badge and conference materials at the conference registration desk at the Bell Harbor Conference Center. If you are in town on Tuesday but have not registered for the preconference sessions, you are welcome to come by the conference center and pick up your materials. |
Can I access the web at the conference?
You will have wireless access to the web at the Bell Harbor Center in the exhibit area. Also in the exhibit area, there will be an internet station with computers, a printer and extra ethernet connectors. |
There really are prizes at the conference?
GALA will give prizes at the end of the main conference. To be eligible to win, you must enter your name at participating exhibition booths and be present at the prize session. |
What are the details on the dinner?
The dinner will include a cruise on the water. The ship will depart directly from the pier at the conference center. It will begin loading at 6:00 PM, and will return at approximately 10:00 PM. |
What food will be provided at the conference?
Lunch will be provided Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There will be light snacks during some of the breaks of the conference. The opening reception will have some appetizers, but it is not intended as a dinner. The dinner Wednesday night will be a full meal. |
What type of clothing is acceptable?
The conference does not have a dress code per se. There is usually a mix of formalities and styles present. Some people will be in suits, and others in slacks with shirts, sweaters. The dinner cruise will not be a dress-up affair. In fact, since the ship departs from the conference center, most people will be wearing whatever they wore to the conference on Wednesday. Hopefully, it is something comfortable! |

Can I have copies of the presentations?
All attendees will have access to the presentations from the conference. These will be available online after the conference. All attendees will receive e-mail notifications when the presentations are available, with access information. |
