Localization World San Francisco: November 15-17, 2004

The Localization World San Francisco conference was an exciting gathering of professionals from all over the world.

For this, the third meeting of the Localization World community (see past conference information here), we brought together an exceptional range of topics and expertise to our largest audience yet. Over 375 people from these companies attended then conference. They come from these countries.

San Francisco featured our new Web-based Localization World Network. This system allows you to quickly find out who is in the Localization World Network and connect with people who share your interests. Whether you need resources or specific information or you like to benchmark with professionals within or outside your industry, Localization World Network makes the connections in real-time.

Conference sessions were geared towards professionals seeking to learn about new business practices, methods and tools in the areas of translation, localization and internationalization. Networking and opportunities for open discussions were at the social gatherings, and throughtout the meals and break periods. Two evening social gatherings provided attendees with the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of fellow professionals.

A wide range of exhibitors provided information about their products and services to all levels of attendees.

Who should attend:
Executives responsible for international marketing, product management, customer relationships and content management. Webmasters and content editors. Translation and localization professionals. See comments from past attendees.

Here is valuable information for your management that shows why you should have attended the conference.

Why attend:
  • Content. The Localization World program offers a variety of high-caliber presentations and panel discussions strong on content and short on sales pitches. Organized by an industry advisory board, the program promises to be a worthwhile assortment of sessions with valuable takeaways for the attendees.

  • Networking. Localization World is designed to allow attendees plenty of opportunities to gather with fellow professionals — within the program itself and with scheduled inter-session networking slots and social gatherings designed for community building. And Localization World Network helps you connect with people in your own interest group.
  • Pricing. The conference was reasonably priced with discounts for early registration, options for one-day attendance, and reasonably priced accommodations.
  • Location. The conference was held in downtown San Francisco at the Hotel Nikko.

What they said:

Previous attendees to Localization World have stated:

"Localization World Bonn exceeded all my expectations: the profile of the attendance was perfect as 80% seemed to be decision-makers; . . . the networking and bonhomie so fluid — and that's not to mention the social events!" — Joseph P. Deignan, Alchemy Software Development

"Forced to come, kicking and screaming about how much work I needed to do at the office — but I'm glad I came."

"The social events were great opportunities to network.
