Where can I find help with taxis, directions, miscellaneous Shanghai questions?
At the conference, TOIN Corporation will provide a Shanghai Insider Kiosk (information booth) near the conference registration desk. It will be staffed by experts who can help you with information to help you enjoy your stay in Shanghai, including directions, taxi information and things to do.

Also, you may click on the image at the left to download a "Shanghai Insider Card" prepared by TOIN Corporation. The insider card has helpful Chinese phrases such as "Take me to the Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Centre International Hotel", as well as an emergency contact number.

Do I need a visa to enter China?
Visitors from most countries will need a visa for entry into China. More information is available on our location page.

How do I get to the Everbright Center?
Taxi: The cost is starting @ 11 RMB during the day, 15 RMB at night. After that it is approxzimately .5 RMB every kilometer. Our estimate that the cost to the Everbright will likely be near 100 RMB.

It might be useful to have the name of the hotel in Chinese. The TOIN flyer has use translations, too.

Train: The maglev train will cost 40 RMB if you show the ticket seller your plane ticket stub. Then you will need to transfer to the metro (subway). You take metro line 2 at the end of the maglev line and then transfer at People's Square Station to metro line 1 and then get off at Cao Bao Road. The total cost is no more than 5 RMB.  After you get out, turn left and walk for 5 mins and you will see the Everbright on your left.
I am a presenter. Are we meeting?
The speakers are meeting for a reception on Tuesday, March 20 at 6:00 PM at the Everbright Center Guangming Hall. This brief meeting will be a chance to meet other speakers and presenters in the program, to transfer a copy of your presentation to the organizers, and to be made aware how much the staff of Localization World appreciates your efforts.
What are the details on the opening reception?
The opening night reception is at the Everbright Center on the same floor as the conference at the Ballroom Foyer and the Cafe Bar area. The time for the reception is 7:00-9:00 PM. All registrants for the conference are welcome to attend. This is a reception only, light food will be served, but it is not a dinner.
What are the conference hours?
On Tuesday, the preconference day, the conference registration opens at 8:00 AM.
On Wednesday, day one of the conference, registration opens at 7:30 AM. The opening session is at 8:30 AM! The final plenary will end at about 6:00 PM.
On Thursday, the first session begins at 9:00 am. Thursday's sessions will end at approximately 5:00 PM.
Where do I pick up my conference badge?
You may pick up your badge and conference materials at the conference registration desk at the Everbright Center. The conference registration desk is on the second level of the center, directly above the lobby, in the Grand Ballroom Foyer.
Can I access the web at the conference?
You will have wireless access to the web at the Everbright Centre in the exhibit area. Also in the exhibit area, there will be an internet station with computers, a printer, and extra ethernet connectors.

There really are prizes at the conference?
GALA will give prizes at the end of both days of the main conference. To be eligible to win, you must enter your name at participating exhibition booths and be present at the prize session.

What are the details on the dinner?
The dinner on Wednesday night is at the Harvest Festival Restaurant. This is across the street from the Everbright Center. The hours for the dinner are 7:00-10:00 PM.
What food will be provided at the conference?
Lunch will be provided Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There will be light snacks during some of the breaks of the conference. The opening reception will have some appetizers, but it is not intended as a dinner. The dinner Tuesday night will be a full meal.
What is the Localization World Network?
The Localization World Network is a way for you to connect with people in the industry who have the same interests as you. There is no charge for membership.

Can I have copies of the presentations?
All attendees will have access to the presentations from the conference. These will be available online at approximately mid-April. All attendees will receive e-mail notifications when the presentations are available, with access information.
