Wisconsin native Frank Lloyd Wright is recognized by many as the greatest American architect of all time. Here in Wisconsin, he created some of his most personal masterpieces. His famous organic architectural style and his ability to integrate and complement the native prairie landscape can be seen in both the Monona Terrace, our convention venue, and Taliesin, his house and studio located in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
To engage in some of Wisconsin's great architectural history, we will be offering a tour of Taliesin on Thursday, October 16, 2008, the day after the conclusion of Localization World Madison. Frank Lloyd Wright began building Taliesin in 1911. Built over a period of 48 years, his estate is described by many as more of a hillside village than a home. Today, Taliesin is recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
We will enjoy a tour of the house, studio, gardens, and the surrounding countryside, along with lunch at the Riverview Terrace Club.
