5th International XLIFF Symposium, a track of FEISGILTT 2014
WATCH THIS SPACE! Sign up for e-mail notification when the site is updated.

The 5th XLIFF Symposium will take place on June 3-4 2014, in Dublin, Ireland,
and it will be BIG not only due to its official collocation with Localization World, Dublin 2014! BUT chiefly becuase the specification will be either days from becoming the OASIS standard or already OASIS standard. The community and TC has finally produced a technically stable draft that is now rapidly approaching the end game of the official approval as an OASIS standard.

Also this year, the traditionally successful XLIFF Symposium will be for the third time integrated as a Track in FEISGILTT, the peer reviewed Federated Event dedicated to Interoperability Standardization in Globalization, Internationalization, Localization, and Translation Technologies. FEISGILTT and hence XLIFF Symposium are collocated with the leading industry conference in the Localization space, Localization World.

Call For Papers is out; please propose presentations, demos, papers, posters etc. through EasyChair!

Registration for both days of the Symposium (and FEISGILTT) is now open.

The Symposium builds on success of the 1st and 2nd XLIFF Symposia which were both held in Europe, 1st as LRC XV preconference, the 2nd at TM Europe 2011, the 3rd and 4th Symposia were collocated with LocWorld in Seattle 2012 and London 2013, respectively.

We have introduced the following active participation formats:

  • Academic Paper
  • Interoperability Showcase (demo)
  • Case Study
  • Panel Discussion
  • Poster

See detailed submission requirements.

We would welcome proposals pertaining but not limited to the following topics::

  • Reference Implementations and Statements of Use for XLIFF 2.0
  • Experimental implementations of XLIFF 2.0
  • XLIFF beyond description: Creative or Unexpected XLIFF Use Cases
  • Who is XLIFF for?
  • Turnkey Transitioning from XLIFF 1.x to 2.0
  • Proposals of XLIFF 2.x modules
  • Interoperability with other standards
  • ITS 2.0 as an XLIFF 2.0 extension -> ITS 2.0 as a XLIFF 2.1 module
  • Feedback to XLIFF 2.0 core and module features
  • Applied XLIFF: Profiling and Subsetting of XLIFF 2.0 and still 1.x
  • XLIFF and localization process management
  • XLIFF and management of memory and terminology matches
  • [Other (please describe within your abstract)]

If you are interested in the above topics and have knowledge and experience to share with your peers, potential and existing clients, suppliers, and other industry experts, please save the dates and submit a proposal for active participation at the 5th XLIFF Symposium.

Please submit your proposals here:
There is only one public link for the whole FEISGILTT conference. For XLIFF Symposium, please choose the XLIFF Track.

All submissions will be peer reviewed and proceedings will be published.

The deadline for submitting proposals is March 19, 2014 and we shall be contacting potential speakers and panellists by the end of March 2014. Call for papers is now open.
